Saints players are encouraged to get their knee checked out by a specialist after a loss to the Rams.
Saints coach Sean Payton said the players are allowed to leave the game in the second half if they feel their knee has become weak, which is something he said is something the players need to be aware of.
Saints players can be seen getting their knee evaluated by Dr. Mike Smith at the team facility in the Saints locker room.
Payton said he is confident the players will be fine, but he added that it is important that they do not get too close to their knee.
Payton added that there is a protocol for when to come back.
Saints tight end Delanie Walker, who missed Sunday’s game with a concussion, said the team is taking it seriously.
“You want to be as well prepared as you can be, but at the same time, you don’t want to get hurt too much,” Walker said.
“Just stay focused on the game and just try to keep your mind open.”
