The Midships football team will host Indiana University in the first-ever College Football Playoff matchup.
The teams will meet for the first time in Indianapolis in the Big Ten championship game on Saturday.
The Mids have yet to play in a postseason bowl, but they have played in a number of bowl games and won multiple of those.
The Colts, who have yet again lost a bowl game this season, will be the fourth school in the College Football Playoffs to lose a bowl this year, joining Purdue, Michigan State, and Penn State.
Indiana won its first Big Ten Championship game last season, defeating Penn State 27-20 in overtime at Lambeau Field.
The Indiana football team is led by sophomore wide receiver and returner Dwayne Allen.
Allen has led the team with six touchdown catches and two return touchdowns in 2017.
Allen said he hopes to contribute to a win for Indiana, but he said he would not focus on his individual performance in the bowl game.
“I think it’s about us as a team, we need to come together as a unit,” Allen said.
“We need to put our best foot forward, and we want to be able to do that with all of our teammates.
I think we’ve done a good job of that.”
Indiana will also be without the services of quarterback Ryan Finley, who was hospitalized after suffering a concussion.
